We are proud to bring you "Jungle Beat and Coomalie Sounds" an eclectic mix of drumming workshops, funky circus themes and music. There is so much to do that we recommend staying the night. Here is a taste of what to expect.

Aly De Groote
Sideshow Aly is one “rootsy mama” and brings her visual arts background to the stage alongside her original tunes weaving tales of travel, love, trials and intrigue. Download Bio

The Lovehandles
Once again, great things come in 3's. The Lovehandles play a tasteful mix of blues, R&B and pub rock covering such bands as Hendrick, BB King, Dragon and Australian Crawl. Throw in a few original tracks and get ready for a big night! Download Bio

The Larrakia Saltwater Band
Playing rock, country, reggae and blues classics that you all know and love! This band is sure to get you up and dancing! Download Bio

Barry Cedric
Barry is studying at the nearby Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Education and is often referred to as the "Song Man".

Buskers Bower
This is your opportunity to get up and show us your musical talent! Open to anyone who would like to 'busk' for a few minutes.

Taminmin High School Choir
Back again after last years succesful stint at Lingalonga Festival 2008. The harmonic melodies are divine - don't miss them!

Shimmy All Over Bellydancers
These awesome ladies in traditional costume make this ancient dance look easy!

The Soldier Dance
Fresh from the Taminmin High School Musical 'Cruise Control', these talented teens will put on a great show with the hip hop Soldier Dance

Craft
Browse through the market stalls under shady rainforest trees and enjoy local craft and produce from Batchelor, Adelaide River and surrounds. Unique to this year is a blacksmith. Take the time to watch this craft - you may never get to see it again.

Contemporary fibre sculpture
Aly de Groot has a talent that needs to be seen to be believed. Her visual arts background creates magical fibre sculptures that have graced magazines across the Territory. Join in a workshop release your inner talent!

Crater Farms
Owners Christine and John bring you 'Crater Farms' and located on the way to Litchfield Park, 500m past the Banyan Tree Caravan Park. Come and taste the yummy jams and chutneys and view the watercolour paintings in the home gallery. During the Lingalonga weekend relax on the verandahs or in the garden for morning and afternoon tea served with homemade cakes, slices, jams and chutneys. Art and refreshments available to purchase.

Traditonal Basket Weaving with Jeannie
Watch this fascinating craft as Jeannie weaves her magic. Ever wanted to try weaving? Workshops available on the day.

Childrens activities
Face painting and Smile-A-Mile Fun Bus all courtesy of the Coomalie Community Government Council. Water slide for the under 10's.

Food
A variety of food stalls to tempt most tastebuds. Tradtional Aussie fare, authentic French Crepes, coffee and chesecakes and freshly prepared salads to name a few. Take a moment and unwind in the secluded bar area and watch the festival. Bar service from 2pm - 10.30pm.

Australia's Open Garden Scheme - in Batchelor
During the Festival, Batchelor has four properties open for viewing. Visit the award winning 'Batchelor Pad', 'Swordfish', 'Wicked Gardener' or the Rum Jungle Bungalows. For further information please visit

Territory 'Rel' Week
While visiting Lingalonga, take a short stroll over the road and visit the skydivers and watch the action. This year skydivers will celebrate the 30th Territory Rel Week by converging in Batchelor to make over 2500 parachute descents from 14,000 feet. This biennial meet is a major event on the Australian skydiving calendar and will provide the opportunity to improve skills in the areas of freefall, also known as rel-work, and canopy relative work.

Spectators are more than welcome to drop in and check out the action during the week. For those who are more adventurous, Tandem Skydives are available during the event, however bookings are essential. Friends of the North Australia Railway
We endeavour to open the Railway Heritage Precinct every day of the year so people can inspect our railway museum and the various exhibits in the precinct. You will find us on the Stuart Highway on the southern side of the pictureseque township of Adelaide River. There is no admission fee, but we have a LARGE donation can that needs all the help you can give it. Caravans can pull in off the Stuart Highway - look for the large railway carriage! Keen to try something different? As part of Batchelor's Lingalonga Festival a rail trail walk has been arranged from Rum Jungle to Batchelor at 3.15pm on Saturday 1 August. For safety reasons, registration for this event is essential. Please contact rail@northernexposure.com.au to register. You will need: strong sturdy footwear, water, a hat, insect repellant and any other personal requirements.

Adelaide River Show
Rodeo competiton on Saturday, with family fun day on Sunday.

Top End Flying Club
Watch the skies as ultralights and other small aircraft fly-in over Batchelor. Keep an eye out for 'Toby' a very special little plane!
